Combat Hapkido
Phil Ventrello teaches Combat Hapkido (Chon-Tu Kwan Hapkido),
a modern, reality-based self-defense system. He is a Master Instructor / 6th degree Black Belt and a licensed instructor with the International Combat Hapkido Federation.
Combat Hapkido is an extremely realistic and versatile style of self defense based upon sound scientific principles and modern concepts. It is a hybrid style that incorporates concepts and techniques from other martial arts, unified into a complete and effective system. Combat Hapkido is pure self defense. It is not a sport/competition martial art, nor are there any forms/katas.
Combat Hapkido students are carefully trained to defend themselves using a combination of flowing movement and force redirection, practical striking and kicking skills, pressure points and a variety of joint locking and submission techniques. The complete spectrum of close quarter tactics includes ground survival/grappling, and gun, knife and stick (blunt object) disarming, all of which are considered necessary and practical components of modern self-defense.
The result is a practical, comprehensive self defense system that is enjoyable to learn and truly effective in realistic situations.
It is well suited for men and women of all ages and sizes because physical strength and athletic abilities are not essential.
Due to the nature of this martial art, Mr. Ventrello generally
only accepts students aged 16 and up. Younger students
may be eligible if they have the permission of their parents
and demonstrate consistent maturity and proper control during a trial period.
New students can try a 2 class Introductory for just $45.00, which includes a training T-shirt. For more details, call Foundation Martial Arts at (814) 454-5425.
